Why would anyone begin publishing written content in 2025??
When most people mention AI they’re referring to a large language model (LLM). Boiled down, this is just a mathematical model built to return the most probabilistic string among billions of potential parameters. Its very well suited for repetitive language but has no capacity to develop novel thought or concepts. So if you want to learn anything nuanced or any topic with truly divergent opinions, well “AI” is going to deliver shit results. We’re all going to see more noise and information quality decline online in the next 10 years; I’m writing this to deliver some value in small ways with specific topics in which I’m well versed.
I’ve been working in the tech industry for about a decade and a half now. I work with and have worked with incredibly smart people but not everyone knows everything and all people take mental shortcuts (me included). Most of the advice online about how to build software products isn’t great and there’s a lot of misunderstandings about managing knowledge workers (and a whole shit ton of other stuff too). We need better information and better inputs to improve ourselves and our work. I’ve been blessed with incredible mentors, but I haven’t seen a lot of the same type of support for younger peers, and I’d like to give back.
You can expect an inconsistent release schedule, I write when I think it’s valuable. Most of life is gray area, sometimes darker sometimes lighter. What you’ll find on here isn’t some mathematical constants, its a lot of gray area, so if you disagree please leave a comment. Open forums are important; don’t be a dick, harass, or attempt to dox people and divergent opinions will always be welcome.
